• S t y l e T i p • The importance of basics •

(Shopping session @myer with one of my beautiful clients Shereene) If you have a wardrobe full of clothes, but nothing to wear then you may need to go back to basics & rethink your wardrobe staple items. Nailing those perfect staples can often be the difference between having your wardrobe work or not work. Just think, you cant build a house with out first building the frame, so just imagine your wardrobe staples are your frame! The perfect fitting pant is definitely a wardrobe staple. I always like to start here & create my style around that… You want to find that perfect staple pair of pants that will take you easily from day to night, the go to pants that you can top dress differently to create endless outfit options & most importantly the pants that are so super comfortable that you don’t feel the need to rip them of as soon as you walk in the door. Unfortunately you can’t cookie cut my styling, so there is no one pant fits everyone here! But firstly just consider that fit always comes first! Sizing in Australia can be very inconsistent & I know this can be very disempowering to some, but don’t let that get you down. Go by how something fits instead of the number on the label. Comfort: Take notice of how the fabric feels on your skin? Good or bad.. Do you need more stretch, does the rise feel comfortable, if not try something either higher or lower rise to see if it feels better Lastly consider your lifestyle: Can you wear these pants accross 2 areas of your life? Eg: School run & lunch with the girls? Or work and Friday night drinks? You want the staple pants to be versatile! #styletip #clientstyle

  • • HOW TO LAYER UP • Its deep in to that trans-seasonal time of year when we have no clue what to expect one hour from the next and If you live in Melbourne you MUST know how to nail the art of layering to combat our 4 seasons in one day.... Layering is simply the art mastering the right combinations and I promise it isn't actually as hard as you think. Just follow these simple rules to make life that wee bit easier. Pic via @magic_fox • Your base pieces need to look great as a stand alone piece
• Make most layers light in weight
• Layer from thin to thick
• Keep thick knits, coats or jackets as the very outer layer
• Add a pattern or texture for interest
• Don’t forget your head, neck, feet & hands. Accessories are a great way to keep warm and add that extra element of style

  • • This is literally my 3rd pair of the same white sneakers (plus I have a brand spanking new 4th pair awaiting in the wardrobe) Would definitely be the most worn item in my wardrobe, but I like them looking fresh & white, hence the multiple pairs 😂 Does anyone else buy multiples of their favorite staple items? • #sneakers 👟 @witcheryfashion @cable_bay_vineyards #wearwhatmakesyoufeelgood #casualstyle #personalstylist #personalshopper #melbournestylist #newzealand
